Breast revision surgery involves operating again when issues arise after breast augmentation, such as dissatisfaction with breast shape or texture, capsular contracture, breast deformity, or implant abnormalities.
Breast Revision Surgery
Breast revision surgery is more tricky and difficult than the initial surgery. Breast revision surgery must be performed taking into consideration the patient’s condition and long-term issues. Otherwise, side effects may occur that require yet another surgery. As for the timing of breast revision surgery, it is possible to assess whether surgery is feasible and proceed only after about 6 months to 1 year have passed since the primary breast surgery.

If dissatisfied with the size
If you are dissatisfied with the size and want it bigger or smaller, it is corrected by replacing the implant using the incision line from the primary breast surgery. It is possible 6 months to 1 year after the initial breast surgery.

If asymmetrical
Asymmetry can occur after surgery due to implant deformation or improper dissection. If the positions of both breasts are noticeably different, it can be corrected to achieve symmetry by dissecting the implant pocket or changing the size of the implant.

If hardened due to capsular contracture
Capsular contracture is a side effect in which an excessive capsule forms around the implant after implant surgery, causing it to become hard. For correction, it can be resolved by removing the capsule around the implant through an incision or by changing the position of the implant.

If the implant is leaking or deformed
If the implant is ruptured due to external impact, or if the used bag is defective, the implant must be cleanly removed as soon as possible and replaced with a new implant in the same or an altered position.
